We examine your mouth and take digital X-rays and CT scans, digital impressions to allow us to make an assessment.
The sequence of your personalised treatment plan and the full cost of each stage will be discussed. We will also discuss all the options available to you, so you can make an informed decision.
Template Preparation
Our CAD CAM dental technicians would prepare accurate digital models of your mouth and the areas requiring implants. A computer-designed surgical template/guide is constructed for the next stage so that the implants can be precisely positioned for optimum results.
Within 2 weeks
We would invite you back to have a look at the digital planning and proposed final outcome.
We would spend time with you to discuss any concerns you have and go through all the risks, benefits, and alternatives, so you can make an informed decision.
Pre and post-treatment instructions would be given, and payments would be taken. We accept credit cards, debit cards, AMEX, and BACS payments. Finance options are also available.
The CAD CAM technician would then process and prepare your new temporary fixed teeth ready for the day of the surgery.
Day Before Surgery
One of our dedicated Implant nurses will telephone you to check whether you have any questions and guide you through the medication regime.
Within 4 weeks
The day you have been waiting for has finally arrived!
But we understand that you will feel anxious on the day, and our team are here to fully take care of you.
You will be invited to attend the clinic first thing in the morning. After checking in at reception, you will be taken to a private waiting area, and be made to feel comfortable and settled in. The nurse will then go through any questions you may have.
The teeth shall all be gently removed. The 4/ 6 implants will then be gently placed into the bone. This process takes around 2 hours. For us to provide a fixed temporary bridge, we would require the implants to be stable. If the implants are not stable, we would not be able to gain support directly from the implants but would need to convert the bridge into a full removable denture.
This treatment will be carried out under IV sedation by an anaesthetist. This form of sedation involves an injection in the back of the hand, which makes you feel less anxious. Although you will be awake, the effect of sedation will relax you sufficiently to enable treatment to be carried out. Most patients will not remember the treatment. Verbal contact will be maintained at all times, and the level of sedation can be altered as required.
We will then take measurements of your bite and further impressions shall be taken.
Afternoon
You will be taken back to your private waiting area, be offered a light lunch, whilst the bespoke teeth are being constructed.
Late Afternoon
We will be fitting your fixed temporary teeth and taking X-rays. We will discharge you to the care of the person picking you up.
After 2 weeks
We would see you after 2 weeks to check that everything is healing as planned.
We would then allow the implants to heal for 3-6 months. It is recommended to follow a soft diet for three months to allow full healing to take place.
Within 12-24 weeks
Removal of temporary bridge, bite measurement, re-insertion of the temporary bridge.
We shall then wait one week for the next appointment.
Try in of the metal titanium bar and teeth, and adjustments.
We shall then wait one week.
Further measurements may be needed as required.
Final fitting of the permanent titanium- based porcelain implant bridge with 12 teeth.
We shall need to see you on an annual basis to review the implant treatment, to remove the bridge, clean the implants, and refit the bridge.
We would also monitor the implant performance and take any necessary X-rays. Oral cancer screening will also be performed.
We would require you to visit the hygienist at the review appointment.
